Nightshade Guide

Overview

The Nightshade is Hibernia’s pure stealth assassin class in Dark Age of Camelot, the stealth counterpart to the Infiltrator and Shadowblade. Its role is simple: pick fights on its terms, kill quickly, and disappear before help arrives. Nightshades are arguably the most dynamic of the three assassins because they combine strong melee burst, poisons, and unique spell utility. Of the three assassin classes, Nightshade is the best at higher realm rank. Players who enjoy rogue assassin archetypes will enjoy Nightshades. Be warned, Nightshades are typically not preferred in groups beyond stealther parties.

Infiltrator vs. Nightshade vs. Shadowblade.. how to pick?

Nightshade has the advantage of magic spells, both instants and castable damage. This makes it a lot harder for enemy classes to kite you, and adds dps when finishing kills.

In terms of unique RAs, Wild Arcana is the best RA for assassins but its only available to Nightshades. At high rank, this permits all of your poisons to crit. This makes you incredibly lethal, and can be stacked with Viper. Obviously, the investment into high WA and Viper costs a lot of realm skill points. Nightshades are the best assassin at high realm rank once they get these RAs up and gain some rank, increasing their offhand hit%.

Class Best At Power Curve
Infiltrator consistency, control strongest early-mid
Shadowblade raw melee damage strongest early
Nightshade scaling and versatility strongest late
